Solutions Engineer

Job Description

As a Solutions Engineer, you will partner with our Sales team as a technical resource while engaging with prospective clients. You will be responsible for understanding potential customers' technical needs and translating how our products could be a fit. You will be proficient in the technical aspects of our products and will advise on and design solutions for potential customers. Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Solutions Engineer’s primary role will be to support the Sales, CS, Partnerships, and Operations teams with demos, expansions, upsells, and responding to RFPs. Taking on this role will mean you are comfortable with the software and creative when it comes to finding solutions and workarounds to support our customers’ needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Advice on best practices within the functional areas of the relevant workstream/modules/objects;
  • Advice on the configuration of master data, parameters, and support tables;
  • Engage with Other Solution Providers on applications, extensions, and integrations to improve the overall business solution;
  • Create and maintain architectural documentation such as ERD and SDD;
  • Validate relevant project documentation including process maps, gap lists, business requirements documents, functional design documents, and solution design documents;
  • Assist in the design and review of change requests;
  • Help coordinate cross-functional requirements gathering and implementation;
  • Support super users with testing (process, integration, regression, acceptance);
  • Assess technologies and features from Salesforce/Microsoft/Sugar/Creatio in collaboration with the Lead developer;
  • Collecting and analyzing feedback from prospective customers to influence the roadmap;
  • Partnering with Account Executives to support the sales process;
  • Conducting client discovery calls with sales representatives;
  • Meeting with clients to discuss their hardware and software needs;
  • Strategizing with the sales team to create customized solutions;
  • Drafting and delivering presentations on targeted products/demonstrating the features of company products;
  • Testing the performance of the installed system and fixing bugs;
  • Providing post-installation follow-ups.

Requirements:

  • Professional with a mixture of functional and technical expertise desired;
  • Expert knowledge of Salesforce/Dynamics/SugarCRM/Creatio design and architecture covering Finance, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain;
  • Experience with all stages of CRM Implementations with at least one full life cycle implementation completed;
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban);
  • Knowledge of Jira / Confluence;
  • Ability to create architecture diagrams based on all stakeholder inputs (Business Partners, Business Analysts, Developers, Executives), and adapt your interactions to each stakeholder’s perspective;
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills, Ability to build relationships with potential customers, understand their environment, and introduce new concepts to solve problems;
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to chair meetings or host webinars at all levels of the organization, including C-level. Bilingual is a plus;
  • 7 years of professional experience working in a pre-sales, sales engineering, or related consulting role within enterprise software;
  • Experience representing technical concepts to an audience of varying technical understanding
  • Ability to balance multiple competing priorities;
  • Ability to travel (when possible and required);
  • Ability to create big-picture software solutions;
  • Ability to present ideas in a clean, user-friendly way;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Sales experience.
