Senior Data Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst in Europe with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Tableau and a strong ability to interact with business stakeholders. The ideal candidate will excel at gathering and translating analytical requirements from business stakeholders, collaborating with data engineering teams, and developing a robust portfolio of dashboards to drive business insights. This role is crucial for enabling data-driven decision-making and optimizing business performance.

Responsibilities:

Dashboard Development & Maintenance:

1. Design, develop, and maintain a portfolio of dashboards in Tableau that provide actionable insights.
2. Ensure dashboards are user-friendly, visually compelling, and aligned with business needs.
3. Conduct regular updates and improvements to existing dashboards, ensuring data accuracy and relevance.

Stakeholder Engagement:

1. Serve as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders, gathering and documenting analytical requirements.
2. Conduct client-facing meetings to understand business objectives and refine data analysis requests.
3. Communicate insights effectively, tailoring explanations to the technical knowledge of stakeholders.

Collaboration with Data Engineering:

1. Liaise with data engineering teams to ensure the necessary data pipelines and data sources are available, optimized, and reliable.
2. Provide clear specifications for data requirements to support dashboard development and reporting needs.
3. Coordinate with data engineering on data quality, transformations, and best practices to maintain accurate reporting.

Data Analysis & Insights Generation:

1. Perform data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that drive business decisions.
2. Provide ad-hoc data analysis support to answer specific business questions, using Tableau and other analytical tools as needed.
3. Ensure all analytical work aligns with company KPIs and strategic goals.

Quality Assurance & Documentation:

1. Conduct quality assurance checks on data and dashboards to ensure consistency and reliability.
2. Document analytical processes, dashboard specifications, and stakeholder requirements for future reference and auditability.
3. Develop and maintain best practices for dashboard development, data visualization, and stakeholder communication.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis, with specific expertise in Tableau for data visualization and dashboard development.

• Proven experience in a client-facing role with strong communication skills.

• Demonstrated ability to gather requirements from non-technical stakeholders and translate them into technical specifications.

Technical Skills:

• Advanced proficiency in Tableau with a portfolio showcasing complex, interactive dashboards.

• Strong SQL skills for querying and transforming data.

• Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes; experience working closely with data engineering teams is a plus.

• Knowledge of Python or R for data analysis is advantageous but not required.
